a matter of facts….
November 26, 2008
In my initial proposal I proposed that the video would include educational facts about the environment. These facts were intended to act as a call to action for the viewers, or suggestions on how to live more environmentally consciously. After animating the video with the facts and without, I have come to realize that the message and punch of the project is stronger without the facts. The message itself is a fact, and sometimes “less is more” (as Mies indicated).
In case you are still interested in knowing ‘the facts’, below is a link to a site I was referencing.

I have re-worked this walk cycle. The monster doesn’t have a strange awkward limp anymore. This will help transition from one shot to another. See below.
The video is progressing along, at a slower pace than predicted, but this is due to all the deadlines in my other classes. I have finished plotting the earth’s movements through the machine, and am currently working on animating the machine elements to compliment the earth. The monsters are finally all done. You can see one below.

video progress
October 30, 2008
This week I have been busy working on animating my characters. I have completed a walk cycle for ‘the monster of humanity’ (see clip posted below). I am still working on animating ‘the machine’ and incorporating the typography.
Check back next week for a more refined peek at the video.

I have been procrastinating posting this image, because I wanted ‘the machine’s’ full form to be revealed at a climatic moment in the video…. I am putting those thoughts aside though, as I need to keep posting my progress!!
So here…. (drum roll) is the long awaited machine!
It is still in the preliminary stage… I need to make it much more sexually ambiguous and add some more depth with color and shading.
